MARCH: IN PICTURES AND WORDS

March was a month which, as all months seem to at the moment, passed quickly and without much change. The clocks went back and much to my satisfaction, the sun started making a little more of an appearance. I don’t know if it’s just me, but every winter I seem to forget that there's even such thing as sun. When the days start to stretch out and the evenings become brighter, I suddenly remember that other seasons do exist. It’s so much easier to feel happy and not entirely stuck inside your own mind when warm rays are bouncing off of your skin.

March, for me, was a month of branching out creatively. I started submitting my work to more publications, writing more poetry, drawing more and just generally trying to create something new every day. I’m happier when I’m making art and I’m really trying to remember that I need to implement this into my daily routine if I want to be able to feel each day.

A few other exciting things happened in March. I got a new car, at last! If you’ve read any of my previous, more personal blog posts, you may know that my little Yaris, though my first car and hence my first love, has been on it’s last legs for a while now. It was a car which made an entrance - mainly because you could hear the engine from a mile off. So, I’ve traded him in for a new little Mini who I’ve named Seb. Perhaps this seems like a strange name for a Mini, but I’ve developed a weirdly specific routine of naming my cars after Ryan Gosling characters. If you know, you know.

I also went to Center Parcs this month, for the first time in years. I played tennis (well, I picked up the ball for about 5 minutes and then got bored and scuttled off to find the nearest coffee shop), walked, ate pancakes and just generally enjoyed feeling like an outdoorsy person for a weekend.

I bought a top from Zara which I wore pretty much every day of the month and fell deeply in love with. I woke up at 4.30am for a week of early shifts and got to watch the most beautiful sunrises every day of the week. I started to feel more comfortable with my body. I went to Yo Sushi, which I’ve been craving for months on months. And perhaps the most wonderful part of March; I headed to BlogConLDN where I got to meet a few of the individuals who’ve made the last year of my life so much easier.

When you add it all together, March didn’t seem so static, after all.
