MENTAL HEALTH MAIL SWAP

Receiving snail mail is pretty much one of my favourite things ever. Honestly, I don't think there is anything which I love more than checking the post in the morning and seeing a letter or parcel with my name on it.

I really miss the days when sending letters was a big thing. Don't get me wrong, I love social media and being a part of the internet age. But notifications don't always fill you with the same warmth that getting a hand written message does.

Recently I have fallen in love with the mental health community online. Every person that I've met within this small hub of people have been so kind, brave and welcoming. They're the types of people who will go out of their way to put a smile on your face, even though they're also suffering.

For these two reasons combined, I've decided to start a new little project up, to give back to this wonderful community. My idea is to put together a mental health blogger mail swap, to help bring this community closer together and share a little bit of hand written love in the form of a care package.

The package can contain whatever you like be that a hand written note, your favourite brand of tea, some sweets you love, a face mask, your favourite book, something you've created yourself. Whatever you want to send - make it personal! I'd suggest a rough limit of around £5, but of course, spend more or less depending on your budget.

If you're interested in getting involved, simply send me an email on laurenevie@yahoo.co.uk or DM me on Twitter letting me know your full name and address. The deadline for signing up is going to be September 30th, so get in touch soon if you do want to take part.

After this date, I'll pair everyone up and let you know the person you're going to be sending a package to.(you'll also get one back from them!) You'll have until October 17th to get your package sent their way.

For now, I'm going to say this is open internationally, however, that is dependent on how many people from other countries enter and whether UK folks are willing to pay shipping costs etc - if anyone has an idea of how to combat this do let me know!

I'm super excited, and hope we can get as many mental health bloggers involved in this as possible, so do make sure you share the link to this post with anyone you think may be interested!

As always, thanks for reading!

UPDATE: This is now closed and if you signed up you should have had a message from me letting you know your swap partner. I think I got back to everyone but if you haven't heard from me - let me know!
